The Numbat (Myrmecobius fasciatus) is one of Australia’s most remarkable marsupials. Known as the Walpurti in Noongar language, this little termite-hunter is the only marsupial in the world that feeds almost entirely on termites — up to 20,000 a day with its long, sticky tongue!
